What is megasonic technology?

Megasonic cleaning is an advanced technology that uses mechanical waves with a high frequency of vibration above 1MHz to impact liquid (water), effectively removing impurities adhering to the surface of the object being cleaned without damaging it.

We manufacture semiconductor equipment. In April of this year, we installed three HKD tank-type megasonic cleaning units for use on our CMP equipment. We were surprised to find that domestically produced equipment is so reliable and delivered on time. Now we don't have to keep looking at imports anymore, which gives us peace of mind!

Our company, XY, manufactures semiconductor equipment, and we used imported Megson units for chemical cleaning. This April, we switched to four sets of HKD bonding-type units. What is megasonic technology?

The core of megasonic technology is the use of high-frequency sound waves above 1MHz to achieve precision cleaning, material processing, and other functions; it is a high-frequency extension of ultrasonic technology.


Core principle: High-frequency sound waves propagate in a medium (mostly liquid), generating tiny cavitation bubbles. These cavitation bubbles collapse instantaneously, releasing extremely strong impact force, accompanied by localized high temperature and pressure. The high-frequency characteristics allow for smaller, denser cavitation bubbles, resulting in more precise and gentler effects.
